Daylight Simulation
Climate-based daylight modelling to balance visual comfort, energy efficiency, and certification compliance.
Live Daylight Simulation
Sun path, shadow casting, and surface heat exposure — modelled in real time.
Overview
We model natural daylight availability, distribution, and glare risk across building interiors — enabling design teams to balance visual comfort, energy efficiency, and compliance with green building certification requirements.
Why It Matters
Daylight is one of the most valued qualities in any occupied space, yet poorly managed daylighting leads to glare, overheating, and excessive reliance on artificial lighting and blinds. In rating systems like LEED, Estidama, and WELL, daylight performance is a significant credit category — and one where projects frequently underperform without simulation-led design.
Our Approach
We use climate-based daylight modelling (CBDM) to assess spatial daylight autonomy (sDA), annual sunlight exposure (ASE), useful daylight illuminance (UDI), and glare probability. We work with architects to optimise façade design, shading strategies, glazing specifications, and interior layouts — ensuring daylight targets are met without compromising thermal or energy performance.
